About About Tabstop Studio
Tabstop Studio finds and fixes accessibility issues in Shopify and WordPress theme code. Everest Egenhofer founded it to do one thing well: fix the issues properly in code, and prove it with before/after evidence.
Why the name
tab stopnoun
A tab stop is every place keyboard focus lands when you press Tab. It is the first thing an accessibility auditor tests, and where most checkout-blocking bugs live.
What we do, and what we don’t
We do
- Review Shopify and WordPress themes against WCAG 2.2 AA, by scan and by hand
- Fix the issues in theme and template code, on a duplicate theme or staging site
- Prove every fix with a before/after report mapped to its issue ID
- Work white-label for agencies, and as the fixing partner for auditors
We don’t
- Sell overlays, widgets or toolbars
- Sell certified audits, VPATs or ACRs. When a client needs one, we point them to independent auditors.
- Give legal opinions or promise legal outcomes
- Pay referral fees to auditors who retest our work
How we work
Staging only
Every change is made on a duplicate theme, a branch or a staging site. You publish.
Evidence for every fix
Before/after scans at two widths and a manual check, per issue ID.
Code, never overlays
We change the theme code that causes the problem, so nothing runs on top of your store.
Honest limits
We say what automated checks can’t catch, and what’s outside the theme: apps and checkout.

We access stores only through a Shopify collaborator account, or a staging login for WordPress, and never ask for passwords.
