How a job runs, from findings to verified fixes
Find, fix, verify, keep it fixed. Engineered, manually verified and, for auditor partners, retested by your team.
Find, fix, verify, keep it fixed
Every project follows the same four steps, on a staging copy of your store.
Find
We scan your key templates at desktop and mobile widths with our in-house tooling, then test by hand: keyboard only, VoiceOver and NVDA, and 400% zoom. Every issue is mapped to the theme file that causes it.
Fix
We fix the agreed issues in your theme or template code on a duplicate theme or staging site. Your live store isn’t touched.
Verify
We re-run the same checks and hand you a before/after report for every issue ID. You review the fixes on staging before you pay the balance.
Keep it fixed
If anything we fixed stops working within 60 days, we fix it again. Fix Watch re-checks your templates every month after that.
What you can hold us to
We’re a new practice, so instead of a client list, here are the terms.
A verified report
For every issue ID: the file we changed, automated before/after results at desktop and mobile widths, and the manual keyboard and screen reader result, with recordings of key tasks.
Pay the balance after you’ve seen it
The last payment is due only after you’ve checked the fixes on staging.
A 60-day fix window
If anything we fixed stops working within 60 days, we fix it again at no charge. Changes made by a theme update, a new app or someone else’s edit are quoted instead, and we’ll show you what changed.
A refund if a fix can’t pass
If an agreed fix doesn’t pass its agreed check and we can’t fix it within 10 business days, we refund that fix’s share of the price.
From audit finding to paid fix
Engineered, manually verified, partner-retested. For auditors and agencies who already have an audit: your audit is the scope, the work happens on staging, and your team’s retest decides payment.
Who: You
Send the findings
The audit findings (issue, WCAG criterion, page and severity) and read access through a collaborator request or staging login.
Who: We
Triage and quote
We map every finding to theme code, app code or content, and quote a fixed price for an agreed list of fixes within 2 business days after receiving findings and read access.
Who: We
Fix on staging
Changes go into a duplicate theme or a staging site, never the live site, each tied to the audit item it resolves.
Who: We
Scan diff and manual testing
Before/after scans, then keyboard, VoiceOver, NVDA and 400% zoom. You get a change log with one row per audit item.
Who: You
Your retest
Your team retests against the pass criteria in the quote. Failed items are reworked free within 14 days, for up to two retest rounds.
Who: You
Pay on pass
You pay for the agreed fixes that pass. If the agreed fixes fail your retest, you don’t pay for them.
What partners can hold us to
The agreed fixes, by the agreed date, without breaking the site, with a change log mapped to each audit item. If the agreed fixes fail your retest, you don't pay for them.
What we never promise
- Lawsuit dismissal
- Protection from future lawsuits or demand letters
- Blanket legal compliance (ADA, Section 508, EAA, or any law)
Pay on pass is a payment term, not legal advice. Scope and payment terms
Access, apps and checkout
What we need from you, and what sits outside your theme.
- Access without passwordsWe work through a Shopify collaborator account or a WordPress staging login, with only the permissions the job needs. Security and data handling
- Third-party appsReviews widgets, popups, chat and filter apps inject their own code. We flag every issue that lives in app code at quote time, with the options for each: change the app’s settings, swap the app, or file a ticket with its developer.
- Shopify checkoutCheckout is Shopify-hosted on every plan. On non-Plus stores we report checkout issues to Shopify rather than fix them. On Shopify Plus, custom checkout extensions can be in scope.
- How we testScans before and after every fix, then keyboard, screen reader and zoom testing by hand. How we test
